Test Specifications
Elimination is performed using Mynox®, the patented mycoplasma
elimination reagent. Cell and virus cultures of biological safety level
1 and 2 can be treated. Successful elimination is verified with the Venor®GeM
mycoplasma diagnostic system prior to return shipping; the diagnostic
service is included in the stated price. The contamination-free culture
is returned after 3 to 6 weeks. All customer information is treated as
strictly confidential. Formal, contractual confidentiality agreements
can be generated upon request, reports are maintained in our archives
for five years; native samples are cryogenically stored for 12 months
before professional disposal.

Shipping Instructions
A complete copy of our sample submission form, which can be downloaded on our web site, must be enclosed with all submitted samples. Please ship sample materials under stable storage conditions (i.e. frozen on dry ice depending on ambient temperatures and expected shipment duration). If shipped non-frozen, please comply with the following: Adherent cells should be nearly confluent and preferably in a sterile 25 cm² disposable flask. Fill the flask with medium up to the neck. Cap tightly and observe for leakage. Nonadherent cells should be at 10 5 cells/ml or more in medium preferably in a sterile tube or flask with sufficient volume. Package your sample to protect it from thawing, crusing and/or impact. A telephone announcement is desirable, but not necessary. Consider please the appropriate regulations in each case for the dispatch of biologicals of your courier service.

Minerva Biolabs does not accept sample material of biological safety level 3 or 4. The offered mycoplasma testing service is not to be used for clinical diagnosis or applications involving humans. This service is intended exclusively for quality control/research purposes only. Samples can only then be accepted when Minerva Biolabs receives the signed sample submission form.
