Our detection service for Legionella pneumophila and Legionella spp. for your water samples
Water Sample Preparation and PCR Analysis Minerva Biolabs employs the use of the specially designed water pathogen testing system, Aqua Screen®, which combines the filtration of the water sample, the lysis of the precipitated microorganism, the DNA extraction as well as the purification and elution of the DNA in minimal volumes under conditions which are optimal for the subsequent PCR analysis. Water samples (250 - 1000 ml) should be collected directly from the water source, and without the use of additional tubing or hoses. There are two options for this procedure:
Samples should be sent in a lightproof, insulated box (e.g. styrofoam box) at room temperature. With all samples, enclose or fax a completed copy of our sample submission form which can be downloaded from our web-site. Package your sample to protect it from crushing. Shipment time should not exceed 48 hours. Confidentiality/Quality Assurance All client information is treated in strict confidence. Formal, contractual confidentiality agreements can be generated upon clients' request. Reports are maintained in our archives for a minimum of five years. Extracted samples are kept at Minerva Biolabs for up to six months for retesting at the customers' request. The laboratory practices GMP and GLP standards and is ISO 13485 and 9001:2000 certified. Minerva Biolabs accepts sample materials classified under Bio-Hazard Safety Level 1 or 2, according to the German BiostoffV regulations. Water samples suspected of legionella or other common water pathogens are typically assigned to this classification. Samples are accepted only with this completed and signed Submission Form. |
