Minerva Biolabs Mycoplasma Detection Kit Venor®GeM and Venor®GeM-OneStep incorporate the highly-sensitive PCR technology as its method for detecting contaminating mycoplasma, which also offers outstanding characteristics over other techniques and products used for mycoplasma safety.
Screen frequently to validate your experimental results.
Screening of cell cultures at regular intervals for mycoplasma contamination is critical for reliable and reproducible results. We recommend to screen cell cultures on a monthly basis as well as before cryopreservation. In addition to our Venor®GeM and Venor®GeM-OneStep Mycoplasma Detection Kits, we offer a mycoplasma screening service.
Mycoplasma are often found as common contaminants in cell cultures, virus stocks, and other cell-derived biologicals. Mycoplasma contamination is a recurring problem that can cause non-reproducible results in research and productivity losses of up to 50 % in industry, which can be avoided by routine diagnostic testing. Nowadays, testing for mycoplasma infection is an essential requirement in reaching quali-ty control standards for all cell culture laboratories. It is necessary to demonstrate quality in laboratories concerned with the production and maintenance of cell lines used in manufacturing various biologicals and in research laboratories to validate their results.
Venor®GeM and Venor®GeM-OneStep incorporate the highly-sensitive PCR technology as its method for detecting contaminating mycoplasma, which also offers outstanding characteristics over other techniques and products used for mycoplasma safety. The kit includes positive and internal controls. The internal control confirms proper amplification by acting as an alternative template for the PCR primers. Non-infectious Mycoplasma orale DNA is used as a positive control.
Mycoplasma are known to cause a variety of human and animal diseases, and in the laboratory, mycoplasma are often found as common contaminants in cell cultures, virus stocks, and other cell-derived biologicals. Mycoplasma contamination is a recurring problem that can cause non-reproducible results in research and productivity losses of up to 50% in industry, which can be avoided by routine diagnostic testing. Also, testing for mycoplasma infection is now an essential requirement in reaching quality control standards for laboratories concerned with the production and maintenance of cell lines used in manufacturing various biologicals.
We highly recommend our reliable hot-start MB Taq DNA Polymerase for PCR detection of mycoplasma.
Venor®GeM / Venor®GeM-OneStep kit components are lyophilized and at +2 bis +8 °C maintainable for at least 12 months. Primer and nucleotides are aliquoted (á 25 tests) to guarantee consistent quality. After rehydratisation the reagents must be stored at -18 °C.
Venor®GeM / Venor®GeM-OneStep are intended for research use only. Not recommended for clinical diagnostics or testing of human samples.
